Residents of New Kutunku in Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT were thrown into confusion and disbelief last Saturday after a 31-year-old man, identified as Ajayi Nicholas, reportedly slumped and died in the room of a commercial sex worker.
According to eyewitnesses, the man had checked into a hotel in the area around 5 p.m. for what many assumed would be a brief “session of adult wellness.” However, things took a dark turn when he allegedly collapsed just as he was preparing to leave.
A resident, Josiah Gabriel, told reporters that the sex worker raised the alarm, prompting the hotel manager to intervene. The manager, who recognized the man, quickly contacted his relatives living nearby.
Nicholas was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors confirmed him dead on arrival—his final check-out, literally.
Meanwhile, police officers arrived at the hotel, took the body to the morgue for autopsy, and detained the lady for questioning.
As the community tries to make sense of the tragedy, one thing is clear: not every “happy hour” ends with smiles.
