
Former Minister of Education and Bring Back Our Girls activist, Oby Ezekwesili, has criticized the Nigerian Senate for what she described as gross degradation of the Constitution” in handling the sexual harassment petitio filed by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
The heated session led to an outburst between Ezekwesili and the Deputy Whip of the Senate, Senator Onyechachi Nwebonyi, as she strongly condemned the Senate’s decision to rely on its standing orders rather than the Constitution of Nigeria
Speaking to journalists after the session, Ezekwesili argued that the Senate’s handling of both Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s suspension demonstrated a pattern of suppressing constitutional rights under the guise
