The Lagos State Government has announced plans to install 3,000 e-police and speed limit cameras across the state to improve traffic law enforcement. The Director of the Lagos State Vehicle Inspection Service (VIS), Engr. Akin-George Fashola, disclosed this during a radio program on Lagos Transport Trends and Perspectives.

He revealed that speed limit cameras are already operational at locations like Alapere-Ogudu Road and Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way, while e-police cameras have been installed at Allen Junction and Nurudeen Olowopopo Road in Ikeja to monitor red light violations. Motorists exceeding speed limits face a ₦50,000 fine but can contest it with proof.

Engr. Fashola also highlighted new VIS initiatives, including an online roadworthiness recertification system and an auto verification service for used vehicle buyers. He urged residents to visit the VIS website or any of the 45 VIS centers for more information.
