According to Ifeanyi Ejiofor, the legal representative of the Indigenous People of Biafra, terrorists are infiltrating the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) of Nigeria.
Ejiofor attributes this invasion to the weakened security system of the country.
In a statement on his Facebook page, he expresses concerns about the inclusion of terrorists in the national security framework, despite claims of their reformation.
According to Ejiofor: “Not too long ago, terrorists ‘broke’ into Kuje prison in the heart of Nigeria’s capital city and took away several of their high profile members and other inmates.
“The country moved on as if nothing happened; none of those terrorists was arrested nor was any prison or government official prosecuted for their roles in the so-called ‘prison break’. It was business as usual.
“Today, we hear gut wrenching tales of daring atrocities being committed by these terrorists, from the Christmas day massacre in Plateau State to the various successive kidnappings.
“These terrorists have graduated and have moved their operations from other states and are now running rampage unchecked, kidnapping and killing people in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, and many people are acting surprised.
“Sadly, we have been told time and time again, that these terrorists have ‘repented’, and many of them have been drafted into the security apparatus of the country.
“And you wonder why insecurity in the country is alarmingly on the increase. The security architecture of Nigeria has been compromised for a long time.
“Unfortunately, we are all being made to suffer and pay for it. There was indeed a country.”
