Escaping assailants have murdered Chiedoziem Anyanwu, the ward chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in the Ife/Akpodim/Chokoneze ward in the Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State. Anyanwu was fatally shot on Thursday by gunmen riding on a motorcycle.
According to a source, upon reaching his residence, the attackers specifically mentioned Anyanwu’s name and requested to see him before carrying out the deadly assault.
The chairman of PDP in Ife/Akpodim/Chokoneze ward in the Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area was shot dead before his wife by gunmen who requested to see him.
Upon reaching out for confirmation, Lancelot Obiaku, the Director General of the PDP’s New Media in the state, verified the killing. He emphasized the urgency of apprehending and prosecuting the fleeing suspects by the authorities.
However, when contacted, the state police spokesperson, Henry Okoye, mentioned that he had not yet received a briefing on the incident.
