At least 15 individuals have lost their lives following an assault by suspected herdsmen on Ugboju community in the Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State.
These attackers have been consistently launching attacks on the area over the past two weeks and on Wednesday evening, they invaded the village, causing distress among the locals.
Eyewitnesses report that numerous individuals are still unaccounted for, and search teams are actively scouring the surrounding bushes for any remaining survivors.
Godwin Edoh, the State House of Assembly representative for Agatu Constituency, expressed his outrage at the recent wave of killings and confirmed that the incident took place on Wednesday.
