Abia Government Signs Historic Deal to Revitalize Enyimba Hotel with Radisson Blu

Aba’s once-iconic Enyimba Hotel, left abandoned for over 20 years, is finally getting a new lease on life. The Abia State Government has announced a partnership with the globally renowned hotel brand, Radisson Blu, to restore and transform the facility into a world-class, 5-star luxury hotel. The official deal is set to be signed on February 9, marking a significant milestone in the state’s journey toward revitalization.

According to Uche Ukeje, the Director General of the Greater Aba Development Authority (GADA), the longstanding ownership disputes that hindered progress have been resolved. He shared the government’s ambitious vision for the hotel, promising not just a revival but an upgrade to meet international standards. “This will be one of the best hotels in Nigeria,” Ukeje confidently stated.

The project goes beyond the hotel itself. Behind the facility, across the river, a modern conference center will be constructed, while a resort and leisure park will spring up on the opposite side of the bridge, creating a comprehensive hub for relaxation, tourism, and business.

Governor Alex Otti, who visited the abandoned site in 2023, had vowed to restore the hotel and bring back its glory days. True to his word, this partnership signals a new beginning, with the promise of job creation, increased tourism, and an economic boost for Aba.

Residents and business owners in Aba are thrilled by the news, with many expressing excitement about the opportunities this redevelopment will bring. For many, the Enyimba Hotel is more than just a building; it’s a symbol of Aba’s resilience and potential for greatness.

As the project begins to take shape, hopes are high that this transformation will not only revive the hotel but also position Aba as a destination for business, leisure, and innovation.
