AFUED prayer team leader retires from the University

The Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED) Ondo prayer team leader, Apostle (Dr.) Johnson Oluremi Falade, has retired from the service of the University.

Until his retirement, Dr. Falade was a senior academic staff in the Department of French in the institution.

Speaking at a brief ceremony, held for the religious leader-cum- lecturer in the University, on Monday 3 February, 2025, which also coincide with the day set aside for the March, 2025 edition of the University organized monthly prayer meeting in the institution, the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Samuel Akintunde, eulogized Apostle Falade, stating that the religious leader was a blessing to the University.

The Acting University Administrator also lauded the retired academic staff for his contributions to the institution’s academic and spiritual development.

He said: “Apostle Johnson Oluremi Falade, Baba you have been a blessing for more than 40 years in this University. You started preaching when you were a student, leading the Chirst Apostolic Church Student Association (CACSA) prayer meeting in the institution.

“We thank God for your life, you are one of the people God used to intervened and bring peace to the University. We are asking you to go higher ground. I am very sure, that by this time next year, your Ministry will go beyond Nigeria.

“We love you so much, and thank you for your prayers and counseling”, he stated.

Meanwhile, speaking on recent development in the University, Prof. Akintunde lauded staff for their contributions to its growth and development.

He used the occasion to announce increment in the salary being paid to non- regular staff in the University, stating that the step was taken, in order to alleviate their sufferings, in the face of current economic challenges being faced in the country.

While urging the beneficiaries, which include security men and women, grounds-men and cleaners, to continue to put in their best, the Acting University Administrator, gave assurance that before the year 2025 runs out, the Management of the institution, would roll out good packages, that would put smile on their faces.

Earlier in a message delivered on the occasion by Apostle Johnson Oluremi Falade, he emphasized the need for people to stand firm and act as soldiers of Christ.

He cited Exodus Chapter 14 v 14 -15 and Galatian 6 v 16 from the Holy Bible to buttress his points and urged the congregation, not to despair in the face of current challenges facing the nation, but to act like a soldier in the month of March, because “all covenant of God has been given to us”.

He said: “Even though we believe that we are in the month named after god of war, we are not marching into war, but into glory, breakthrough and success”.

The spiritual gathering, which held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Auditorium in the University, had in attendance, Principal Officers of the Institution including: Acting Vice chancellor, Prof. Samuel Akintunde; Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olufemi Abayomi Olajuyigbe; Acting Librarian, Dr. (Mrs.) Afolabi Fausat Adeola.

Others were Deans, and Directors, Heads of Department and Units, members of University prayer team, wife of Apostle Johnson Oluremi Falade, Mrs. Victoria Funso Falade, staff and students to mention but few.

The climax of the event was the offering of prayers for Apostle Johnson Falade and other members of the congregation born in the month of March.

Management of the University led by the Acting University Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Samuel Akintunde later presented gift to Apostle Johnson Oluremi Falade and thanked him for his stewardship.
