A prominent businesswoman in Osun State, Alhaja Ero Arike, has accused Governor Ademola Adeleke of reneging on a political promise after allegedly receiving substantial gifts from her.
In a viral video outburst, Alhaja Arike claimed she donated two cows worth ₦1.6 million each, four bags of yam flour, and ₦5 million in cash to Governor Adeleke. She said her support was based on the governor’s assurance that her husband would be given the chairmanship ticket for Boripe Local Government.
Despite her contributions, Alhaja Arike alleged that Governor Adeleke failed to fulfill his promise, leaving her and her husband disappointed.
“I supported him with everything I had, believing he would honor his word, but he betrayed me,” she lamented.
As of the time of this report, Governor Adeleke’s camp has yet to respond to the allegations. However, the claims have sparked discussions within Osun State’s political circles, with many awaiting an official statement from the governor’s office.
