BILLS FOR ROAD MAINTENANCE: A SPOTLIGHT ON SIR AZUKA OKWUOSA AS THE BEST CONTENDER IN THE ANAMBRA SOUTH SENATORIAL BYE-ELECTION RACE
Roads open up more areas and stimulate economic and social development but good roads sustain the development and accelerate progress.
Although each region in Nigeria appears to assess itself as the worse off, the sad reality is that from East to West, from North to South, the story is the same everywhere on the deplorable state of the Federal roads.
Extremely worried by the deplorable state of federal roads in Anambra, which lead to increased vehicle maintenance costs, accidents, economic stagnation, and negative impact on wildlife and mental health, Chinyelugo came up with blueprints for bills on road maintenance.
It’s expected that the bill will not only promote an enabling environment for private sector participation in the financing, maintenance and improvement of roads in the country, it will provide for the safe transportation of motorists and road users; it will be a means of overcoming the country’s transport challenges; enable the sustenance of roads across the country but also increase investor’s confidence especially in Anambra State and Anambra South.
