“Erosion control and prevention has become imperative in view of the catastrophic impact of erosion in several parts of the country”.
Almost every part of this country is characterized by one environmental problem or the other(Anambra South has so many erosion sites) however, the menace of erosion is unarguably the severest in terms of devastation and destruction, as postulated by the immediate past Senator representing the good people of Anambra South in the Red Chambers of the National Assembly.
On this premise, Chinyelugo has given his words to continue where Ebubechukwuuzo Nnewi stopped for as homegrown , he understands that the loss of fertile soil makes land less productive for agriculture, creates new deserts, pollutes waterways and can alter how water flows through the landscape, potentially making flooding more common.
He is also on ground to know that Erosion increases the amount of dust carried by wind, which not only acts as an abrasive and air pollutant but also carries about 20 human infectious diseases; and if unmitigated, severe soil erosion can result in the loss of food crops, negatively impact community resilience and livelihoods rendering the people displaced, homeless and deprived of their source of sustainance.
Chinyelugo cannot fold his arms and watch his people suffer unending deprivations, hence his joining the Senatorial bye-election race to save his beloved people from more losses.
Chinyelugo will sponsor peerless bills that will not only prevent and control erosion in Anambra South and Anambra State but also make good use of already erosion ravaged sites to the benefit of the people.
Let’s support Sir Azuka Okwuosa (Chinyelugo) for quality Representation in the Senate.
