It was a monumental gathering on the 11th of April at The Base Landmark Event Centre, Enugu as Who is Who in the society gathered to celebrate the lives and times of the legendary Nollywood Actor Chief Nkem Owoh popularly known as Osuofia on his 70th birthday anniversary celebration.
In a statement made available to the press by the Secretary of the Local Organizing Committee Hon Monday Diamond Ani JP, the event which took just three weeks time frame-planning and execution recorded huge success as government institution, friends, fans, family and well-wishers trooped in to celebrate the iconic actor.
In his word, the Executive Governor of Enugu State Dr Peter Ndibuisi Mbah through the Enugu State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism Dame Ugochi Madueke eulogised Nkem Owoh, describing him as an Enugu valuable asset, an ambassador who has immensely made his State and Country proud through his creative ingenuity and projection of our cultural heritage.
Earlier, the Senator Representing Enugu West Senatorial District Sen Osita Ngwu eulogised Nkem Owoh, calling him his dear brother in whom he is well pleased and also, described him as a good ambassador of Ndi Agbaja both at home and in diaspora.
His iconic colleague Chief Pete Edochie MON described Nkem Owoh as the most retentive memory actor he has ever seen, he said Nkem Owoh possesses computerised brain, making him very outstanding in the motion picture industry.
At the event, the Enugu State Commissioner of Police,Mamman Bitrus Giwa in his remarks said that though he is not an Igbo man yet he has been a strong fan of Nkem Owoh since his school days because of his extraordinary comic nature and roles interpretation.
In the same vein, influential youth leader and the secretary of the LOC Monday Diamond A(Odoziobodo) in his speech said he was spurred into playing active role towards the success of the event because of his believe in celebrating legends while alive not when they are no more.
While so many personalities in the documentary interviews bared their minds in admiration of the iconic Actor, some also at the event poured encomiums on him.

In his vote of thanks, Chief Nkem Owoh in astonishing and ecstasy mode expressed sincere delight and appreciation to God Almighty for His grace and blessings upon his life,he specially thanked the Local Organizing Committee for their immeasurable efforts to organize a surprise birthday anniversary celebration for him, he also thanked the Governor of Enugu State for identifying with him and celebrating him in a time like this.
In conclusion, Nkem Owoh thanked all those who supported his 70th Birthday Anniversary Celebration in one way or the other.
