
The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has announced the postponement of the much-anticipated Public Hearing on the review of its constitution, which was initially scheduled to take place on March 14, 2025, in Owerri.
In a press release signed by the Secretary-General, HE Emeka Sibeudu, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization assured the public that a new date for the hearing will be communicated in due course.
The statement urged individuals and organizations to continue submitting their memoranda via email to [email protected], emphasizing the organization’s commitment to an inclusive and thorough constitutional review process.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your kind understanding,” the statement read.
The postponement comes amid heightened expectations from stakeholders across Igboland who have shown keen interest in shaping the future of Ohanaeze Ndigbo through constitutional reforms.
Observers believe the review process is crucial in addressing contemporary issues affecting the Igbo nation, strengthening the leadership structure, and enhancing the organization’s role in advocating for the rights and interests of Ndigbo both within and outside Nigeria.
