Renowned oil magnate, legal luminary, and philanthropist, Chief Sir (Barr.) Donald Amamgbo (Okeosisi Ihiala), has emphasized the need for Anambra South to elect leaders with verifiable records of service, job creation, and community development.
Speaking during his visit to the Anambra State Towns (People) Association (ASTPA) meeting in Abuja, Amamgbo formally declared his intention to contest for the Anambra South Senatorial Seat under the Labour Party, following the unfortunate passing of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.
Addressing stakeholders, Amamgbo assured them of quality, effective, and people-focused representation if elected to the Red Chamber of the National Assembly. He underscored the importance of electing individuals who have successfully managed businesses, paid salaries, and contributed to economic growth.
“When you elect someone with a verifiable track record, someone who has built businesses, created jobs, and met the needs of the people, you are choosing an administrator who will serve differently and deliver impactful governance,” he stated.
Amamgbo’s track record speaks volumes. His law firm and oil and gas businesses currently employ over 200 people, demonstrating his capacity for job creation and economic empowerment. Additionally, he has personally built a high-quality road in Ihiala, reinforcing his commitment to community development.
Responding to his remarks, ASTPA President General, Sir Arinze Anadu, alongside General Secretary Hon. Festus Iyke Agbazue and Chairman of Ihiala Progress Union Abuja, Mr. Okey Udemba, expressed confidence in his leadership capacity.
They pledged full support for his senatorial ambition, citing his dedication to service, verifiable empowerment schemes for Youth and Women empowerment, scholarships for students, as well as proven impact in the private sector.
Amamgbo’s growing influence positions him as a strong contender for the Anambra South Senatorial seat, with many stakeholders optimistic about his ability to bring meaningful development and transformative leadership to the region.
