In a dramatic shift in Nigeria’s political landscape, several influential figures are set to join the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the coming days.
Among those making the move are former Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi, former Attorney General Abubakar Malami, ex-Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha, former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola, and ex-Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi.
Others expected to defect include Abia State Governor Alex Otti, political strategist and diplomat Babagana Kingibe, and influential presidential aide Sabiu ‘Tunde’ Yusuf.
This major political realignment is expected to shake up the 2027 elections, as the SDP positions itself as a formidable force in the country’s political space.
