Gregory University Uturu Management Condemns Brutal Killing Of Expatriates And Police Officer

Gregory University

The Management of Gregory University Uturu is deeply saddened by the brutal murder of two Chinese expatriates and one Nigerian Police Officer in Agukwu Amaya Forest in Amaya Ndundu Autonomous Community, Isuikwuato LGA, Abia State. We strongly condemn this heinous act and urge security agencies to thoroughly investigate the crime, apprehend the perpetrators, and bring them to justice.

Addressing concerns about the safety of our students and staff, we assure the public, particularly parents and guardians, that the security of our university community remains our top priority. Given the significant distance of about 25 kilometers which separates our university from the scene of the incident in Agukwu Amaya Forest, a boundary community lying between Isuikwuato LGA of Abia state and Ishiagu in Ivo LGA of Ebonyi State, we are confident about the safety of our students and staff. Nevertheless, we continue to collaborate with relevant security agencies to ensure the security and well-being of the university community.

We therefore appeal to everyone to remain calm while supporting the authorities in their efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice. This incident highlights the need for vigilance and cooperation between communities and security agencies to prevent such tragedies.

Management extends heartfelt condolences to the Consulate and Officials of the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria, the Inspector General of Police, Officers and Men of the Nigeria Police Force, and the families of the victims.
