
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of Kogi Central, on Tuesday said that no one can prevent her from returning home.
She laid emphasizes on her deep ties to her hometown and stated that she has no fear of anyone attempting to stop her.
Natasha made this statement while speaking to her supporters who gathered to welcome her in Okehi Local Government Area.
Her words, “Nobody and nothing can stop me from coming home. I’m an Ebira woman; this is my land. I’m the daughter of the late Jimoh Abdul Akpoti. I know my roots; I’m not a bastard, and I’m not afraid of anybody.”
AKELICIOUS shared that the Kogi government had banned rallies and public gatherings across the state ahead of Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s homecoming, citing security concerns.
The government also suspended fishing and other activities, noting that fishing incidents in Kasemiya, Katubo, and Umozu Ette, all in Kogi LGA, resulted in the loss of two lives.
Additionally, the Kogi State Police Command issued security warnings, advising the suspended senator to cancel her planned rally.
The chairman of Okehi LGA, Amoka Monday, imposed a curfew in the area.
Despite these restrictions on large gatherings, hundreds of supporters still gathered to welcome Natasha when she arrived in her hometown.
Natasha was recently suspended from the Senate after a clash with Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who she accused of sexual harassment.
She was suspended for six months due to alleged misconduct during a Senate session.
