
At least eight people, mostly women and children, were killed in a predawn Israeli attack on Gaza City’s Zeitoun neighborhood, as Israeli airstrikes continue to devastate the war-torn enclave. The latest assault adds to the 40 fatalities reported across Gaza in the past 24 hours.
The United Nations’ World Food Programme (WFP) has issued a dire warning that thousands of Palestinians are facing severe hunger and malnutrition. Meanwhile, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) has confirmed that no humanitarian aid has entered Gaza for more than three weeks, exacerbating the crisis.
In Lebanon, Israeli airstrikes have also killed at least six people in recent attacks, according to the country’s Health Ministry.
Gaza’s Health Ministry reports that at least 50,208 Palestinians have been killed and 113,910 wounded since the start of Israel’s military campaign. The Government Media Office in Gaza has revised the death toll to more than 61,700, stating that thousands remain buried under rubble and are presumed dead.
The ongoing war was triggered by the October 7, 2023, Hamas-led attacks on Israel, which killed at least 1,139 people, with more than 200 taken captive. As the conflict rages on, humanitarian agencies continue to warn of worsening conditions and an urgent need for aid access.
