A joint security team comprising operatives from the Oko Divisional Police Headquarters and the Amaokpala Vigilante Group (AVG) raided a suspected criminal den in Umudike Village, Amaokpala, Orumba North Local Government Area, on January 25, 2025.
The operation, which was based on intelligence, led to the recovery of a significant quantity of substances suspected to be hard drugs, two mobile phones, and a cash sum of ₦73,150 believed to be proceeds from drug sales.
According to a statement by SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Police Public Relations Officer, the criminals fled into nearby bushes upon sighting the joint security team. The operatives subsequently destroyed the hideout and are intensifying efforts to apprehend the suspects and prevent them from regrouping elsewhere in the state.
The Anambra State Police Command reassures residents of its commitment to maintaining law and order while urging the public to provide credible information to aid ongoing efforts against criminal activities.
