Kano Anti-Graft Agency Boss Arrested

The Chairman of the Kano Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC), Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado, was arrested on Friday, January 24, in connection with a major corruption case involving the alleged misappropriation of over N4 billion.

DailyTrust reports that he was detained at the Zone One Police headquarters in Kano for hours, quizzed and later granted conditional bail around 11pm.

He was however directed to report at the Force headquarters in Abuja on Monday for further questioning.

The arrest is believed to be tied to the ongoing trial of Bala Muhammed Inuwa, the former Managing Director of Kano Agricultural Supply Company Limited (KASCO), who has been accused of embezzling public funds.

The trial, which began in November 2023, has already led to the seizure of assets and funds linked to the alleged fraud.

The trial, which began in November 2023 at the Kano High Court presided over by Justice Hafsat Yahaya, had led to the seizure of properties allegedly tied to the case.

These included funds in bank accounts, pending the court’s final decision.
