Manchester City defender Kyle Walker has penned a heartfelt letter to the club, its staff, and fans as he reflects on his incredible seven-year journey at the Etihad. Walker, who joined City in 2017, expressed gratitude for the success, relationships, and memories he built during his time at the club.
“Signing for this incredible club in 2017 was a dream come true,” Walker wrote. “Seven years later, winning 17 trophies, including the Champions League and the famous treble, is something I could only have dreamt of as a child.”
Walker paid tribute to his teammates, the coaching staff, and manager Pep Guardiola, acknowledging their roles in shaping his career and contributing to City’s dominance in English and European football.
“To Pep Guardiola, thank you for believing in me and working so hard to bring me here. Together, we’ve celebrated 17 trophies, and your guidance has helped shape me into the player I am today,” he said.
The 33-year-old also thanked City fans for their unwavering support throughout his time at the club. “Your unwavering support, week in, week out, home and away, will never be forgotten.”
Walker leaves City as one of the club’s most decorated players, having been a key part of their domestic and European triumphs, including the historic 2022/23 treble.
