Luxury car influencer Ricardo Godoi tragically passed away after suffering cardiac arrest moments before getting a new tattoo under general anesthesia.
The 45-year-old was at Revitalité Day Hospital in Itapema, Brazil, on Monday, preparing for a tattoo on his back. Shortly after being anesthetized, his heart stopped. Despite efforts by a cardiologist to revive him, he was pronounced d3ad.
A d3ath certificate from hospital director Clício J. Dezorzi, reviewed by Brazilian outlet G1, cited “use of anabolic steroids” as the cause of the cardiac arrest. However, Santa Catarina Civil Police chief Aden Claus stated that Godoi’s family claimed he had not used steroids in nearly five months.
Before the tattoo procedure, arranged by Tattoo Studio, Godoi underwent a blood test, which reportedly showed no health risks.
Godoi, a married father of four and CEO of the Godoi Group, was well-known in the luxury auto industry.
Just before the procedure, he informed his 226,000 Instagram followers, posting: “I am currently undergoing a surgical procedure and will only return after 4:00 pm.”
