Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo began governing the state on a promising note in 2022. Within a short while, he made appreciable impact on Anambra landscape. He got the avalanche of refuse dotting most parts of the commercial cities in the state permanently cleared, cleared drainage and illegal structures, fixed the roads, returned sanity to dangerous areas like Okpoko, Upper Iweka, beautified the capital city, and arteries of major highways.
He also improved the standard of education by recruiting and training teachers and providing quality free education, improved healthcare, huge investments in tourism sector, loud statement in security matters, empowered thousands of youths, and embarked upon massive urban renewal of many parts of the state, constructing and reconstructing roads.
Gov Soludo has made a huge impact within three years in office such that ndi Anambra are willing and ready to hand him a second term if he so desired.
By the time he would be three-and a half years in office and decides to declare his intention to go for a second term, ndi Anambra will have no option but to vote massively in support of his continuity in office.
While endorsing Soludo for second term last week at a press briefing, I urged ndi Anambra to support him for a second term because greater days are ahead. He has set standard of governance for others to emulate. His sterling performance has not only been commended by Anambra residents, but also by most Nigerians and the international community. This is evident in the number of awards he has received from reputable organizations, within 3years in office.
In Anambra, there has not been any break in transmission in terms of service delivery, Gov Soludo has kept faith. Work is going all over Anambra. I am quite optimistic that Gov Soludo will sustain the tempo and improve on the fortunes of ndi Anambra in his second term.
Gov Soludo should look beyond four years in office, and declare his intent “to offer himself for the service of the state for another four years.” The third anniversary is not only to showcase his achievements to justify the earlier mandate but the need for a renewal of the mandate in another election which is only some months away.
