In response to the recent TVC News report quoting Obiora Okonkwo’s remarks against Governor Chukwuma Soludo, it is imperative to shed light on the reality of Okonkwo’s political ambitions and his futile attempts to challenge the widely acclaimed leadership of the Anambra State Governor.
Obiora Okonkwo’s relentless bid to position himself as an equal to Governor Soludo is both laughable and misplaced. It is clear to discerning Nigerians that he lacks the political credibility and influence to match Governor Soludo’s achievements. His repeated failures at the polls stand as undeniable evidence of his inability to resonate with the Anambra electorate.
It is not the first time Okonkwo has sought to undermine Governor Soludo. Yet, history has consistently shown that the people of Anambra reject his political maneuverings. As the November 8, 2025, governorship election approaches, he is once again setting himself up for yet another political embarrassment.
The harsh reality for Obiora Okonkwo is that he is unlikely to secure the APC ticket. Even if he defects to an obscure party, as he has done in the past, the people of Anambra will deliver the same decisive rejection he experienced in the 2021 governorship election. His pattern of desperate political moves proves that he lacks the strategic acumen to make any significant impact in Anambra’s political landscape.
Okonkwo’s call for a public debate with Governor Soludo is not only premature but unwarranted. Until he can overcome the formidable challenge of clinching a major party’s ticket, he remains an irrelevant political rabble-rouser unworthy of the Governor’s attention. Governor Soludo, on the other hand, remains focused on delivering the dividends of good governance to the people of Anambra.
Those who claim that Governor Soludo is not working are deliberately distorting the truth. The overwhelming evidence of his developmental strides in infrastructure, education, and economic transformation is being widely acknowledged and applauded by the people of Anambra. His efforts in tackling insecurity, especially through the successful launch of Operation Udo Ga Achi, have significantly restored peace and stability in the state.
Governor Soludo has justified the trust placed in him by the Anambra electorate. His re-election in 2025 will be a well-deserved reward for his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to the state’s progress. The political antics of Obiora Okonkwo and his allies will not derail the momentum of transformation that Anambra is experiencing under Soludo’s administration.
The people of Anambra are well aware of the difference between genuine leadership and political opportunism. As we move towards the next election, they will once again make the right choice by reaffirming their trust in a leader who has proven himself beyond doubt.
