Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has been bestowed with a new title, “Oluatuegwu”, meaning “the one who never fears a task,” in recognition of his relentless work ethic and hands-on leadership style.
The title emerged during an inspection tour of ongoing infrastructural projects in Ekwulobia on Sunday, February 16, 2025, where a voice from the gathered crowd loudly hailed Soludo’s fearless dedication to governance.
Over the past 35 months, the governor has demonstrated an exceptional level of involvement in project supervision, personally overseeing construction, monitoring progress, and ensuring quality delivery. His approach, which prioritizes development over political patronage, has become a model of governance in Anambra State.
Mazi Ejimofor Opara, PhD, a close observer of the governor’s leadership, noted that Soludo’s commitment to public service has redefined governance in the state. According to him, Soludo’s “politics of development” has overshadowed the traditional “politics of stomach infrastructure,” proving that transformational leadership is achievable.
The governor’s work ethic is also evident in his tireless schedule, taking only three days off during the Yuletide and resuming inspections, project evaluations, and administrative duties immediately after. His mantra, “an unsupervised task is a task not given,” encapsulates his hands-on approach to governance.
The newly coined title Oluatuegwu now joins other accolades the governor has received from admirers who see him as a beacon of excellence, discipline, and visionary leadership in Anambra.
As Soludo continues to push forward with his development agenda, Ndi Anambra appear to have reached an empirical consensus: The “Solution” is here, and it is working.
