Police arrest 2 More Suspects Connected To Abduction Of Retired AIG’s Wife

Operatives of the Lagos State CP Special Squad have arrested two suspects involved in the recent abduction of Mrs. Odumosu, the wife of Retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Hakeem Odumosu.

The suspects, identified as 27-year-old Agbojule Smart and 30-year-old Keleke Michael, were apprehended early Friday, January 24, 2025, while attempting to flee Lagos State.

During interrogation, they confessed to being part of a four-member gang responsible for the kidnapping. The other two gang members had been killed in an earlier operation.

Recovered from the suspects were N2,250,000, part of the ransom paid, alongside two locally fabricated rifles and 11 live cartridges.

Commending the operatives, IGP Kayode Egbetokun praised their bravery and urged them to sustain the momentum in combating crime across the country.

“The IGP commends the police operatives for their gallantry in apprehending these suspects and encourages them to maintain this high standard of competence in the fight against crime in all its manifestations.

“The Nigeria Police Force reiterates its commitment to public safety and the security of the good citizens of Nigeria.

“The Force remains steadfast in its commitment to reducing crime to an absolute minimum and fostering the establishment of peace across the nation,” Police spokesman, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi said in a statement.
