The pace of road construction and rehabilitation across Ondo State has intensified, following a directive by Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa to the Ministry of Infrastructure to expedite ongoing works.
In Irele Local Government Area, significant progress is being recorded on two major road projects located in the Akotogbo and Ijuosun areas. These include the construction of the 14.513km Ode Ajagba East-West to Akotogbo Road and the 13.425km South East to Ijuosun Road—both awarded under the current administration.
Alongside these, other critical routes such as Mobayode Street and Luhare Road are also undergoing construction and rehabilitation, with bridges and drainage systems being developed simultaneously to ensure durability and long-term usability.
The visible progress has drawn commendation from residents and indigenes of the local government, who have expressed appreciation to Governor Aiyedatiwa for prioritizing infrastructure development in the area.
The projects align with the administration’s broader vision of improving connectivity and boosting socio-economic activities across Ondo State.
