Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has joined other prominent Nigerians in mourning the passing of Mrs. Ema Uanseru, wife of oil magnate and President/CEO of GCA Energy Limited, Mr. Greg Uanseru.
Arriving at the businessman’s Ikeja GRA residence without a large entourage, Governor Sanwo-Olu was received by the deceased’s sister, Mrs. Pamela Shodipo, Executive Director at Fidelity Bank, and family friend, Mr. Michael Effiong.
Describing Mr. Uanseru as a dear friend and brother, the Governor expressed his deep condolences, emphasizing that while he had already sent a condolence letter, he felt it was important to visit in person to offer his heartfelt sympathies.
Reflecting on the transient nature of life, Governor Sanwo-Olu urged those present to live righteously and impact those around them positively. He described the late Mrs. Uanseru as a devoted wife and loving mother, known for her warmth and ever-present smile. In his response, the grieving widower expressed gratitude for the Governor’s support, noting that Sanwo-Olu was the first to send an official condolence message upon hearing of the tragedy. He acknowledged that visits like these had provided him with strength and solace.
Mr. Uanseru also took the opportunity to invite Governor Sanwo-Olu and his cabinet to the Service of Songs and Night of Tributes, scheduled for Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Balmoral Hall, Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, as well as the Funeral Service on February 28, 2025, at The Redeemed Christian Church of God (Rose of Sharon Parish), Adekunle Fajuyi Street, GRA, Ikeja.
