Senator Tony Nwoye Pledges Commitment to Mothers’ Welfare at CWO Meeting

The Senator Representing Anambra North Senatorial District, Senator Dr Tony Nwoye on Saturday 1st February 2025, attended the First meeting of the Catholic Women Organisation of Onitsha Archdiocese on their invitation.

The Senator who honoured the Invitation of the Catholic Mothers used the occasion to redeem His to the Catholic Women last October.

The Most Distinguished Senator urged Mothers not to be afraid to speak out against Poor Leadership. He lamented the reluctance of Church Leaders and Mothers to confront Bad governance.

“Ndi Nne, are known to be agents of truth. Today, Mothers are afraid to speak out against Poor Leadership and the society is suffering from it. We need to rediscover that courage to effect real Change in Our Families, Societies, our Dear State, Anambra State and Nigeria”.

Senator Dr Tony Nwoye also faulted Nigeria Political Elites for prioritizing their interests over the welfare of the People.

Many of our Political Leaders are self-serving, many of them are already talking about the next election, while abandoning the people on whose mandate they were elected. There are a lot of pressing issues of governance. Mothers should advise their Children to eschew vices of all forms and other criminal activities.They should stand firm to condemn those atrocities they children indulge in,especially in their quest to get rich quick.
This is why, you as mothers, must leverage on your populations, influence and role in families to demand accountability, demand for policies that will serve the common good of our People.

The Director of Catholic Women Organisation Onitsha Archdioces, Dame Dr Ngozi Nwanosike thanked the Senator for always standing for the people and speaking out. He praised the Senator Nwoye for his proactive Leadership and the good Work he is doing for the people and Ndi Igbo at the National Assembly.

The Spiritual Director of the CWO Onitsha Archdiocese, Rev Father Johnbosco Okafor thanked the Senator for his good heart for the Church and the Masses. He prayed for divine Wisdom, good Health and all protection for the Senator and his family.

In his closing Remarks, Senator Dr Tony Nwoye informed The Catholic Women that the Challenges most of them are having as it concerns their Uniforms, That he has procured uniforms for the Catholic Women in the Onitsha Archdiocese, Aguleri Diocese and also for their counterparts in Anglican Communion too. That the uniforms will be handed over to their Leadership for onward distribution to all the Churches in those dioceses.

The Senator Pledged his commitment to Mother’s Welfare as a way of his little support.
