Vice President Kashim Shettima on Saturday represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the 65th Independence Anniversary celebration of the Republic of Senegal, held in Dakar.
He made this known on his Facebook page some minutes ago, where he shared details of the landmark event.
The historic event marked Senegal’s six and a half decades of independence from French colonial rule and featured colourful displays of military parades and rich cultural presentations along the iconic Boulevard du Général de Gaulle, also known as Mamadou Dia Boulevard.
Speaking on behalf of President Tinubu and the people of Nigeria, Shettima congratulated Senegal on its national milestone, commending the country’s unity, resilience, and progress since 1960. He also applauded Senegal’s democratic strides, peaceful power transition, and its contributions to regional peace and development.
