Students of the College of Medicine, University College Hospital UCH, Ibadan has taken to the streets disrupting traffic and commercial activities along the total Garden-Mokola Highway in the ancient city.
The students who were alarmed about what they termed the deliberate disconnection of their hostels from the facility grid say they would not back down until power supply was restored to their hostels.
Though the clinical section of the hospital has been reconnected to the national grid, the students say irregular power supply to their hostels has adversely affected their academics.
The students led by the student union president of university of Ibadan aweda Bolaji, said the minister for power chief Adebayo Adelabu on his visit to the hospital some days ago promise that lights will be restored but unfortunately their hall of residence was neglected.
The blockage cause heavy gridlock along the total garden to mokola roundabout forcing motorists to take alternate route.
Security operatives were visible while the students conducted themselves peacefully.
