Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has refuted recent social media claims alleging he collapsed during a meeting in Abuja and was subsequently flown to France for medical treatment.
Addressing journalists on Thursday after inspecting ongoing projects in the territory, including the International Conference Centre (ICC), Wike dismissed these reports as baseless and politically motivated.
“I didn’t collapse,” Wike stated firmly, attributing the rumours to individuals attempting to score cheap political points.
This clarification comes amid a backdrop of controversies surrounding Wike’s tenure as FCT Minister. Notably, his administration has faced criticism over demolition exercises in Abuja, leading to a Senate probe into the matter.
Despite these challenges, Wike remains resolute in his commitment to the development of the FCT. He emphasized that no amount of blackmail or intimidation would deter his administration from executing its mandate.
